Why I’m Starting a Creative Journaling Group ...

For more than 30 years, journaling has been an important part of my own creative and reflective practice. Through writing, drawing and image-making, I have used journals to explore thoughts, feelings, life experiences and questions of meaning.

Over the years, I have seen how creativity can help us make sense of our lives, reconnect with ourselves, and discover new possibilities.

Journaling is much more than drawing or writing words on a page. Through a combination of writing, drawing, reflection and creative exploration in mixed media, it can become a way of noticing what matters, understanding our experiences, and nurturing wellbeing.

As an HCPC Registered Art Therapist, artist, author and researcher, I have spent many years exploring the relationship between creativity and personal growth, and have developed a deeper understanding of the creative and psychological processes involved, and the ways in which journaling can support reflection, wellbeing and personal growth.

This summer I am delighted to be offering a small six-week Creative Journaling and Wellbeing Group for women in Swindon.

The group is not about artistic skill. No previous art experience is required. Instead, it is an opportunity to spend time in a supportive environment, exploring creativity, reflection and personal growth alongside others.

There will be journals, art materials, conversation, tea, coffee and cake! I am looking forward to discovering where the journey takes us.
